Kingdom Of The Wicked

Kerri Maniscalco

Jimmy Patterson

From the #1 New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of the Stalking Jack the Ripper series comes a new blockbuster series…

Two sisters.

One brutal murder.

A quest for vengeance that will unleash Hell itself…

And an intoxicating romance.

Emilia and her twin sister Vittoria are streghe – witches who live secretly among humans, avoiding notice and persecution. One night, Vittoria misses dinner service at the family’s renowned Sicilian restaurant. Emilia soon finds the body of her beloved twin…desecrated beyond belief. Devastated, Emilia sets out to find her sister’s killer and to seek vengeance at any cost-even if it means using dark magic that’s been long forbidden.

Then Emilia meets Wrath, one of the Wicked-princes of Hell she has been warned against in tales since she was a child. Wrath claims to be on Emilia’s side, tasked by his master with solving the series of women’s murders on the island. But when it comes to the Wicked, nothing is as it seems…

I was looking for an ideal reading for this Halloween and I have to recommend that Kingdom of the Wicked is perfect, magic, intrigue and demons is something that we can find in its history.

Emilia and her twin Victtoria have grown up listening to the legends about the Malvagi, their grandmother Nonna always reminds them that they must fear the princes of hell and never take off their amulets, and most importantly, never make a deal with them. One day, Emilia finds the body of her sister who has been murdered and her heart has been ripped from her chest. Emilia immersed in pain and rage tries to find answers and a way to avenge her sister’s death.

Our central theme will be magic and the seven deadly sins that are presented to us as houses of hell, each house has a demon of much power that represents it, and it is here that I must mention Wrath, the demon from whom Emilia has heard the worst stories, Nonna has always told her that of all the Malvagis she must fear most, it is Wrath. But, the chemistry between Emilia and Wrath is epic, there’s tension and a lot of passion.

In addition to magic and demons, another theme that stands out a lot in this book is the tradition and recipes of the Emilia family. So we’ll have a lot about Italian cooking.

I loved this author with her series Stalking Jack The Ripper and this new one that presents me loved it much more, the creativity of the author is really amazing and takes us into a magical world that will catch us instantly. That creepy vibe we’ll have from the prologue will be the gateway to a story you love.

What I love most about this author is how detailed she is to describe scenarios and emotions. The narration of this book is exceptional, Kerri Maniscalco with a deep prose will let us know a terrifying scenario that will keep us captivated in reading until the end.

I am very anxious to read the second book, the end of this one left me hanging from a book and I think it will be a reading that I will read until the arrival of the next one just to calm my craving to know more.

Kingdom of the wicked is a book full of paranormal mystery where you will be trapped in that world or revenge, demonic beings, magic and prophecies.

Thank you to Netgalley and Jimmy Patterson Books for providing an ARC in exchange for an honest review. I appreciate the opportunity to read and review the book before publication.

Whatever you do, you must never speak to the Wicked. If you see them, hide. Once you’ve caught a demon prince’s attention, he’ll stop at nothing to claim you.

“There are seven demon princes, but only four di Carlos should fear: Wrath, Greed, Envy, and Pride. One will crave your blood. One will capture your heart. One will steal your soul. And one will take your life.”
